Tottenham Hotspur FC Training Centre Goalkeeper Area Reconstruction

April 2026

Fineturf were appointed by Tottenham Hotspur to carry out a full reconstruction of the goalkeeper area at Hotspur Way Training Centre, removing the existing reinforced surface and rebuilding the area to a specification designed to deliver the long-term performance and durability demanded at elite level.

The existing turf was stripped using the Koro Field TopMaker, efficiently removing the surface layer in preparation for the works below. Our 14-tonne Volvo 360 excavator, fitted with an Engcon tiltrotator, was then deployed to carefully excavate and remove the existing reinforced material throughout the area, allowing full access to the lower rootzone below.

The exposed material was cultivated before the levels were established across the area. The surface was then laser graded to ensure precision across the lower rootzone. Stone rake/rotor raking followed to prepare a clean even lower rootzone layer, keying the top ahead of the rootzone application.

100 millimetres of 90/10 rootzone was supplied and spread across the area, again laser graded to achieve a consistent and accurate finished level. A pre-seeder fertiliser was incorporated prior to seeding, and the area was then sown with a DLF 100% Ryegrass amenity grass seed blend, selected for its establishment rate and durability under the intensive use demands of a professional training environment.

The completed works return a fully reconstructed, performance-ready goalkeeper area to the Tottenham grounds team, built on a sound rootzone profile and seeded to the highest specification.
