Groundcare Operative

Job Description

Fineturf is a leading, long-established, UK based sports turf contractor specialising in the construction of natural grass surfaces for sport. As a business, we regularly complete contracts at the country’s top sporting stadia and pride ourselves on the ability to deliver high end services to our clients. We are looking for a Ground care Operative to join our team based in Lincolnshire, this is a great opportunity for someone who is enthusiastic and is willing to succeed in a busy and varied sports pitch construction and maintenance environment.

The Opportunity as Ground Care Operative

  • Operation of tractors ranging from 44-155hp and trailers.
  • Operation of Groundcare maintenance equipment such as Verti drains, Sand Spreaders, and Koro’s.
  • Ground preparation work and installation of turf.
  • Maintain and prepare sports pitches to a high level
  • Installation of land drainage and soakaways, ground reinstatement work, pathways, and pitch renovations
  • Loading sand, rootzone and gravel.
  • Loading lorries and trailers with equipment.
  • Ensuring that all work is carried out in a safe and conscientious manner.

Essential Competence and Training

  • Knowledge of agricultural plant and machinery with up-to-date tickets.
  • Experience in sports turf management and construction is highly desirable.
  • Must have a valid full UK Driving License.
  • The job requires working away at times during the week and flexibility to work longer hours especially during peak times.
  • Essential to have excellent time keeping, be hard working and have the ability to prioritise workload.
  • Must work well under own initiative and as a team.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to think creatively.
  • Ability to provide up to date knowledge of health and safety legislation.
  • Hold a CSCS, CPCS or NPORS Cards

Administration Assistant

Fineturf is a leading, long-established, UK based sports turf contractor specialising in the construction of natural grass surfaces for sport. We regularly complete contracts at the country’s top sports stadia. We’re looking for an Administration Assistant to join our team in Lincolnshire. This is a great opportunity for someone who is enthusiastic and willing to succeed in an administrative role.

Specific Roles and Responsibilities

  • Assist the Managing Director with typing quotations.
  • Dealing with email customer enquiries.
  • Staff accommodation bookings.
  • Manage personnel files and holiday tracking.
  • To receive, sort and distribute incoming mail and parcels.
  • Raise sales invoices and take electronic payments.
  • Dealing with telephone customer enquiries.
  • General office organisation including ordering supplies & stationery.
  • Organising filing systems and updating office databases.
  • Type quotations, reports, documents and correspondence.
  • Procurement of contracting materials.
  • Collate and reconcile staff expenses.
  • Monitor and arrange Fineturf Vehicle Service & MOT’s.

Essential Competence and Training

  • Ability to work under own initiative & within a team.
  • Good timekeeping, hard working and the ability to prioritise workload are essential.
  • Experience in an Admin based role
  • Ability to work under pressure and multi-task.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organisation.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Managing time and prioritising work to meet tight deadlines.
  • Competent computer skills.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Communicate effectively and confidently with a wide range of people, from customers and suppliers to Senior Managers and Directors both verbally and through written communication.

Desirable Competence and Training

  • Minimum qualification- GCSE
  • Grade C or above in English & Maths
