Simon Hutton - Managing Director

Simon Hutton

With extensive experience in the sports turf industry, Simon’s businesses encompass turf production, golf course and sports pitch construction, specialist earthworks and shaping and groundcare machinery sales.

Leading by example, he’s hard working, motivated and his hands-on nature and enthusiasm helps to drive our unique and innovative approach to turf production. With a friendly and approachable manner he sets high customer service standards from initial quotation to after sales care.

Becky Watson - Group Finance Director

Becky Watson

Becky is responsible for the accounting operations across the group. With both practice and commercial experience she is well equipped to manage the finances of our four companies.

Away from the numbers and when not looking after her beloved cats Coco and Maya, she enjoys hiking, gardening and visiting RHS shows.

Wayne Billing - Group Operations & Technical Director

Wayne Billing

Wayne has worked at the highest levels of elite sport for almost two decades, helping to deliver and manage some of the biggest and most unique stadium projects in multi-use event management and elite football stadia. Also, part of UEFA’s selected pitch consultancy team he has helped with tournament support for euro 2020 delivering performance quality standards across Europe.

Along with Simon, Wayne will help lead the group’s operations and day to day management. With a degree in sportsturf science & management and a self-proclaimed perfectionist, he prides himself on attention to detail and knows exactly what it takes to deliver quality consistently.

In his free time, Wayne enjoys long walks around the countryside with his young family and puppy Springer Duke, but most of all a nice holiday in the sun.

Tom Moor - Fineturf Machinery Sales Manager

Tom Moor

Tom has experience working with leading commercial groundcare manufacturers Ransomes Jacobsen, Toro and John Deere and has an extensive knowledge of their equipment. He ensures both professional sports clubs and domestic customers are supplied with a suitable machine for their requirements.

He also manages our machinery exports and has successfully delivered turfcare equipment throughout Europe and the Far East.

Away from the office Tom enjoys spending time with his son and countryside pursuits.

Alicia Lewis - General Manager
General Manager

Alicia Lewis

Alicia is responsible for ensuring the daily operations of the business run smoothly, providing updates to our operatives and customers to ensure the project is a seamless process. She liaises with suppliers to procure the materials required for various projects and processes supplier invoices and employee expenses.

Outside work, she enjoys spending time around horses, travelling abroad and can also be found enjoying time outdoors walking.

Pete Taylor - Communications and Media Manager

Pete Taylor

Pete is responsible for producing photography and video content for the company's website and social media channels. His attention to detail and creativity bring a unique perspective to the content he produces. In addition to content creation, Pete also manages the company's website, ensuring that it remains user-friendly and up-to-date.

Outside of work, Pete is an accomplished photographer who enjoys pursuing personal projects in film, football, live music, and festivals.

Tony Coleman - Operations Coordinator

Tony Coleman

Tony is a highly motivated and conscientious Operations Co-Ordinator, supplying vital information to teams and departments with project and maintenance targets. Tony also works with the team to plan and carry out the training needs and H&S awareness across the company.

When not at work, Tony likes to cycle, listen to music and play pool. Tony can also be found going out for a local pub quiz.

Mick Baxter - Fleet Workshop Manager

Mick Baxter

Mick has 28 years of experience maintaining and repairing horticultural and plant machinery. Mick's role includes planning the maintenance and repairs of all Fineturf's plant, vehicles, fleet, and other equipment. Micks works hard to ensure all the necessary parts and materials for required work are ordered and in stock.

Outside work, Mick's time is spent running, reading, holidaying with my family and visiting theme parks.

Jim Coleman - Contracts Manager

Jim Coleman

With 31 years in the industry, Jim manages individual jobs and projects in all aspects of sports turf, being at the forefront of tennis and cricket construction in the country. Jim's strong work ethic and motivation are reflected in the high standard of any project he undertakes.

Being an ex-road race cyclist, Jim likes to get on his bike whenever he can but spends most of his spare time helping to look after his menagerie of rescue animals. His animals include donkeys, ponies, kunekune pigs, sighthounds, chickens, ducks, turkeys & two feral cats.

Martin Greene - Irrigation Technician

Martin Greene

Martin Green is our Irrigation Technician at Fineturf, having joined the company in May 2021. With 23 years of plumbing experience in commercial, industrial, and domestic settings, Martin has contributed to various prestigious projects such as Lincoln City, Collingtree, and Roehampton.

Aside from his professional endeavours, Martin is a passionate golfer and holds the positions of Club Captain and Scratch Team Captain at Sudbrook Moor Golf Club. He enjoys traveling throughout Europe to play golf and spending quality time with his family.
