Lincoln City FC Main Pitch and Training Ground Renovations

May 2025

Fineturf were delighted to return to Lincoln City Football Club to, once again, conduct end of season renovations at both the LNER Stadium and three pitches at the club’s training ground.

On completion of the 2024/25 season, teams moved in May to undertake a full renovation at both sites starting with Koro’ing to remove the pitch surface. Where required, hand-cutting was employed to remove vegetation around pitch perimeters and sprinkler heads before all extracted material was cleanly removed from site.

At the LNER Stadium, the process continued with the application of 60 tonnes of new 70/30 rootzone. The pitch was then prepared with a combination of nutritional inputs to assist the grow in – consisting of a conventional 14-6-8 fertiliser, Multigreen 28-3-15 and ICL Pearl at rates of 35g/m2. The renovation was concluded with the J Premier Pitch mixture from the Johnsons Sports Seed range, sown at a rate of 70g/m2.

A similar process was followed on the two soil-based pitches and one fibre-sand pitch used for first-team training. Following surface removal, Fineturf supplied 200 tonnes of sport sand which was dressed and levelled. The pitches were then verti-drained to alleviate any compaction and received an application of 14-6-8 fertiliser before being sown with Johnsons J Premier Pitch at a rate of 60g/m2.

Fineturf thank the team at Lincoln City FC for their ongoing confidence and look forward to continuing to visit for end of season renovations in the years ahead.
