The Queen's Club Steaming and Resurfacing Works

Fineturf recently completed a comprehensive steaming and resurfacing programme for Graham Kimpton at the Queen's Club, carried out in early September 2026.
The courts were first Verti-drained and treated with Air2G2 aeration, along with solid tining, to relieve compaction and improve profile structure. Steam sterilisation was then carried out across the courts to control weeds, pests and disease.
Following sterilisation, the existing vegetation, thatch and slime layer were removed and taken off site. The existing tennis loam was then cultivated and laser graded to re-establish accurate levels across the playing surface.
Fineturf supplied and applied 15 cubic metres of Ongar tennis loam evenly over the surface, which was then regraded. A 6:5:18 fertiliser and an 11:11:5 fertiliser were applied at 35 grams per square metre, followed by grass seed at 70 grams per square metre. The courts received a final hand rake, leaving the site clean and tidy.
