RAF Cranwell Cricket Wicket Construction

April 2016

In April we were privileged to work in the prestigious grounds of RAF Cranwell outside the College Hall. During the project we constructed a 12 strip cricket wicket and renovated the outfield.

The wicket formation was excavated and 168m3 of Binders loam applied, laser graded and consolidated. The wicket was levelled using a custom built mid mounted laser grader, which is manoeuvrable and highly accurate. The wicket was complete by sowing Limagrain MM50 wicket seed.

The outfield was aerated using a Wiedenmann and scarified in 4 directions using a Sisis Veemo. The arisings from the scarification were vacuumed and finally Headland 28:3:15 fertiliser applied and Limagrain MM22 seed sown.
