In September 2014 we completed a drainage project for the Jockey Club at Sandown Park Racecourse. This August we were happy to return and install further drainage at the venue.
A v-ditch was excavated on the inside edge of the track where we were operating. From this v-ditch, drainage trenches were excavated using a Shelton Trencher spaced at 5m centres. Drainage pipe was installed and the trenches were backfilled with gravel, sand and seed. At 90 degrees to these trenches sand slits were installed at 2m centres. These were backfilled with sand and compacted using our custom built tractor attachment. The entire area was also lightly dressed.
