Luffenham Heath Golf Club 4th Green Drainage Installation

In November 2015 we installed drainage on the 12th green at Luffenham Heath Golf Club. In 2017 we returned to drain the 4th green.
The existing turf was carefully removed, at 2m centres, using a pedestrian turf cutter and the trenches excavated using a Mastenbroek trencher. We installed 80mm pipe and backfilled each trench with 2-6mm gravel and 300mm of rootzone. The rootzone was consolidated and Tillers Turf greens grown on USGA rootzone installed.
We excavated a main drain through the centre of the green that was connected to the secondary drains with custom made rigid junctions and into an existing outfall.
