Battersea Power Station Lawn Annual Resurfacing and Aftercare

For another year, Fineturf were proud to return to Battersea Power Station to complete the annual resurfacing of the site’s lawns, continuing a long-standing relationship with one of London’s most high-profile regeneration projects. Fineturf originally installed the lawns during the construction phase of the development and has remained closely involved in their care and renewal ever since.

The lawns at Battersea Power Station play a key role in the presentation and usability of the public realm, providing high-quality green space within a heavily trafficked urban environment. Following another busy year of public use and events, including the popular Winter Wonderland installation held each January, Fineturf returned to restore the lawns to peak condition ahead of the spring and summer seasons.

Building on the approach outlined in last year’s project works, the 2025 programme focused on full surface renewal to address wear, compaction, and seasonal damage caused by prolonged footfall and temporary event infrastructure. Existing turf areas were carefully stripped and replaced, ensuring minimal disruption to surrounding hard landscaping and pedestrian routes. Attention was paid to achieving consistent levels, surface smoothness, and strong turf establishment to maintain both visual impact and durability.

Fineturf’s familiarity with the site and its annual event calendar allows works to be delivered efficiently within tight timeframes, ensuring the lawns are returned to use quickly and in excellent condition. This continued involvement highlights Fineturf’s ability to support complex, high-profile landscapes with long-term maintenance and resurfacing solutions.
