Arundel Castle Cricket Club Wicket Reconstruction

September 2025

Fineturf recently completed specialist cricket square reconstruction works at the prestigious Arundel Castle Cricket Club.

The project involved the reconstruction of two wickets within the existing square to improve performance and consistency ahead of the forthcoming season. The works commenced with excavation to a depth of 200mm, removing the existing profile before laser grading the formation to establish accurate base levels.

High-quality Ongar loam was then supplied, delivered, graded out, keyed in, and compacted in layers to create a uniform and stable profile. The surface was subsequently laser graded once more to achieve precise final levels and married seamlessly into the existing square.

To complete the project, the area was fertilised with 6.5.18 and sown with DLF grass seed, ensuring strong establishment and a quality playing surface for future fixtures. This project was delivered to Fineturf’s usual high standards, enhancing the presentation and playability of one of the country’s most iconic cricket venues.
