Woburn Golf Club The Marquess' Practice Green Construction

The Marquess course at Woburn golf club features a stunning wooden half way house. Adjacent to this is a putting green often used during shotgun start competitions. Fineturf were asked to re-construct this practice putting green. The existing green was removed and the formation of the new green shaped. Drainage trenches were excavated into the formation, drainage pipe laid and backfilled with gravel. A 100mm gravel carpet was laid and a 300mm layer of rootzone imported and shaped. The surrounds were topsoiled and turfed with Tillers Turf Arena. The playing surface was turfed with Tillers Turf Poa/Bent greens grown on USGA rootzone.
