Center Parcs Elveden Forest Golf Green Construction

July 2015

Center Parcs provides all year round short break holidays in five UK forests. We were asked to visit their Elveden Forest location in Suffolk to build a new USGA specification 9th green and artificial tee on their 9 hole golf course.

With the existing grass scraped off our experienced shaper created the green formation and surrounds. With the base consolidated the tilt bucket bucket was used to excavate drainage trenches in which drainage pipe was laid and were back filled with 4-10mm gravel. A 100mm gravel carpet was spread over the surface. Finally 300mm of rootzone was spread and shaped to create the contours of the final putting surface.

Tillers Turf greens grown on USGA rootzone was installed and the surrounds were turfed with Tillers gold.

During the project an irrigation system was also installed and a new artificial tee.
