Sports Pitch Construction
We have undertaken numerous sports pitch construction and redevelopment projects on a number of sports turf surfaces. Our ability to carefully plan and deliver your sports pitch construction project and our experience in doing so can be seen below.
Winter Sports - Football & Rugby Pitch Construction
Sports pitch construction can involve a single pitch, multiple pitches, multi pitch training facilities and local authority areas. Football pitch construction has been completed across the industry from local clubs to professional clubs to schools. Earthworks and drainage works are carried out using our own drainage equipment with our partner Lakeland Earthworks supplying the plant machinery. Sports pitch surfaces are usually constructed using a 70/30 rootzone and in some cases sports sand. Final prep involves a Blec laser grader and Blec stonerake. The sports turf surface is sown using Limagrain MM sports seed or turfed with our own sports turf.
Golf Course Construction
We have extensive experience in golf course construction and redevelopment. Fineturf Volvo 360 diggers and skilled technicians can accurately shape tees, greens and bunker faces. We have laser graders and stone rakes for final tee preparation prior to seeding or sports turf installation.
Other services include irrigation installation, drainage, tree planting, bridge building, cart paths and driving range construction.
Bowling Green Construction
Our bowling green reconstruction involves removing the old surface with Blec combinator. The ground is cultivated then accurately laser levelled. Hand raking creates a good tilth prior to turfing with small roll bowling green turf.
Cricket Wicket Construction
Cricket wicket construction and reconstruction is essential at the end of the season to restore a worn wicket and ensure its in the best possible playing condition for the new season. The Koro field top maker levels the existing surface, removes annual meadow grass, older rye grass and thatch. The Graden is used for deep scarification to improve lateral growth. Following this, loam and seed are applied prior to drag matting and luting to ensure final levels are true. During the sports pitch construction it is recommended to deep tine aeration to relieve compaction and encourage new root growth.
Race Course Construction
During a race course renovation the existing surface is stripped using the Koro field top maker and a grass harrow and vacuum used to collect any remaining debris. The ground is then cultivated before being accurately levelled using a laser guided grader. Finally, Limagrain sports seed is sown with a Blec or Amazon seeder.
