Dunston Hall Fairway Drainage and Approach Renovation

May 2016

We have just completed a fairway drainage and approach renovation project at Dunston Hall, near Norwich. The USGA rated course, with its parkland fairways, is part of QHotels.

The 15th fairway with its steep valley banks was drained in a herringbone formation using our Mastenbroek 1012D Sportsfield trencher. The machine lays the pipe during the trenching pass. Following this the trenches were backfilled with a custom built gravel and sand hopper.

On the 1st hole the existing surface was removed and the approach reshaped. The ditch banks were also reshaped and the ditches re routed. Sand was ameliorated into the approach and Tillers Turf Arena installed. New drainage was installed to the front of the green at 4m centres running into the adjoining ditch.
