Football Pitches
Fineturf, one of the country’s leading winter sports contractors, specialise in the construction, renovation and maintenance of football and rugby pitches.
Working alongside a diverse selection of clients we have completed projects on single and multi pitch sites, some of which have presented us with unique construction challenges. Site issues involving soil composition, formation and structures, remediation and drainage all present varying challenges.
Working with our engineers to develop strategies to overcome site-specific issues has enabled us to gain a vast amount of experience and understanding in the successful construction and maintenance of winter sports pitches.
Using this knowledge, we have developed specialised methods and machinery and sourced the highest quality materials for use on our projects.
Our client base includes professional sports clubs, non-league clubs, local community clubs, local authorities, schools, academies and civil engineers.

Football and Rugby Pitch Surface Installation
The type of turf surface installed is dependant on both budget and the growing in period available before play commences.
Throughout the season penalty areas and centre circles are prone to wear and tear. We can perform mid season renovation using large roll sports turf or install ‘n’ playball turf tiles. The worn area is removed prior to rootzone application, hand or laser levelling and surface installation. Our install ‘n’ playball operation means the new surface is instantly playable.
A number of football & rugby pitch turf installation solutions are available:
- Reinforced, Rootzone and Indigenous Sand Soil Sports Turf
- Install ‘N’ Playball Turf Tiles
- Limagrain Sports Seed
